Fed Index of Common Inflation Expectations

The Index of Common Inflation Expectations, also known as CIE, is an indicator developed by the Federal Reserve in late 2020. CIE is published on a quarterly basis and summarizes the comovement of a wide variety of inflation expectations. The index is constructed using 21 inflation expectation indicators, which include both "short horizon" and "long horizon" forecasts.
